Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 to Feature Revolutionary Blue PHOLED Technology

In a bid to redefine smartphone displays, Samsung is gearing up to introduce blue phosphorescent OLED (PHOLED) technology in its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, expected to hit the market in 2025. The move from traditional blue fluorescent material to phosphorescent material aims to significantly improve internal luminous efficiency, resulting in better battery life and reduced power consumption for users.

Currently, Samsung utilizes blue fluorescent material with an internal luminous efficiency of just 25% on its display panels. However, the shift to blue PHOLED, already employed for red and green pixels, promises to enhance efficiency to 100%. Despite challenges related to the material’s lifespan, Samsung Display is anticipated to overcome these hurdles, ensuring a promising future for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

The initial plan was to introduce blue phosphorescent material in the foldable phones slated for release next year. However, due to unforeseen complications in the production process, the revolutionary material is now expected to make its debut in the 2025 models.

As we anticipate the advancements in smartphone technology, the transition to blue PHOLED reflects Samsung’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge displays. While the material may have a lower lifespan than its fluorescent counterpart, Samsung’s track record suggests that users can expect remarkable results in terms of display quality and efficiency.

With 2025 on the horizon, stay tuned for more updates on the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. As Samsung continues to push the boundaries of display technology, users can anticipate a visual and functional experience like never before.
