One UI 8 Lock Screen Widgets Get a Handy Upgrade in Latest Firmware
Samsung is quietly polishing its latest software with subtle yet effective enhancements. One such tweak is the One UI 8 lock screen widgets, which are now noticeably larger than before. In the newest One UI 8 test firmware, trialed on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung has increased the widget size on the lock screen, improving visibility and user experience.
The difference is clear when comparing older and newer builds. Widgets on the new firmware are significantly larger, while still allowing up to four widgets on the lock screen. Although this may seem like a small change, for users who rely on quick-glance information from the lock screen, the improvement is quite meaningful.
Currently, Samsung has not introduced any new widget types. However, more options could arrive as One UI 8 continues its development.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, or Galaxy S25 Ultra, you may soon get access to the beta version of One UI 8. Samsung is expected to roll out the One UI 8 beta program later this month. There’s also speculation that the Galaxy S25 Edge might be included, although that’s not yet confirmed.
This update, while modest on the surface, signals Samsung’s ongoing commitment to refining the Galaxy S25 Ultra firmware update experience. With more small changes like this, One UI 8 new features may add up to a significantly improved user interface by the time the full release arrives.
